Peragon Retractable Tonneau Pickup Truck Bed Cover Reviews

I should have known when fedex dropped the boxes off at my door and there was a big rip in the main cover box that I was in trouble, sure enough there was a small dent in the rear panel, after I opened the box that was really over protected with foam, great now what, so I went ahead and installed the cover anyway, only issue I had was that the rear panel rubber bumper kept coming off when I was testing for alignment, I discovered that the rails were to close together, my fault for not making the right measurements, as for the dent I’m sure that paragon would have replaced the cover but I didn’t want to be without a cover because I was installing it right before we were to get a snow storm and I didn’t want to wait for the replacement. I was able to use my paint less dent repair tools and fixed it myself, I have been a roll up bed cover for years and this is the first hard cover I have ever owned, the complete installation was all done with one person me! Easy install video and install instructions, use both, done in 2 hours, it should have only taken an hour and a half, but I ran into measurement issues, all in all go with the upgrade to get the stainless steel and the rear tailgate seal, love the look and the security of the peragon aluminum panel cover.

Great looking cover. Fairly easy to install. Have not used it much yet. However I am extremely pleased with it.

First let me start off by saying that I gave this cover 3 stars only because their customer service is excellent. Otherwise I’d only give it 2 stars. They were very helpful and even sent me a new cover when I wasn’t happy with the first one, even though there was nothing wrong with it. And the 100 day trial period is really good. So you can try it out and if you don’t like it you can send it back free of cost for a full refund. It is also the cheapest hard cover tonneau on the market. As for the cover itself, although an excellent concept, it does not perform well in many areas.
1. Time consuming installation. The online videos help a great deal, but there are a lot of steps involved. Plan on spending at the minimum 2 hrs to install.
2. It is made of thin aluminum that bends very easily under any weight. Mine bent under only about 2” of snow.
3. It leaks from everywhere. If you don’t care about water getting in your bed then it’s fine. However if you do store anything in there it will get wet. It leaks form between the panels, along the rails and along the bulkhead.
4. Also if you need to open the cover while it’s wet, all that moisture on top will end up inside the truck bed as soon as you start to fold it.
5. If you store any large items that can slide around like a cardboard box it will get under the spot that collapses and you will not be able to open the cover unless you crawl in the bed and slide the item out of the way.
6. The guide wheels come out of the tracks very easily. If you happen to shift the cover slightly while closing it, it will probably come out of the track. It happened to me several times.
7. And finally, although not very heavy, and yes it is completely removable, in my 2020 F150 it was not so simple to take out. There are pistons that make it “pop” into place when you close the cover that need to be removed first before taking the cover off. They were difficult to get to in my truck. There is also a small latch that you have to press in to release the cover from the passenger side at the bulkhead that is difficult to get to and can easily cut your hand when you press it in as the cover panel edges are sharp.
I would definitely not recommend this cover to anyone who uses their truck often for work or who wants to keep their gear dry. Agin it’s a great concept, but I feel it needs better engineering.

Extremely satisfied! Well made and easy to install using the instructions. Great features like simple removal if more bed space is needed, solid and able to hold a load, sealed well and water tight after some recent hard rains and heavy snow. I highly recommend this cover for any truck!

Wow. Customer service is definitely AAA. Needed the cover for a long-distance road trip, wanted to keep our belongings secured. You folks stepped up and delivered! The product is high quality and easy to utilize, I feel my stuff is secured in the double-deadbolt cover. I can see how installation issues can lead to some dissatisfied customers, you really, really need to pay attention to the installation instructions to get this installed correctly. Fortunately, the installation videos were a breeze and knowing this same great customer service were a phone call away eased my mind a lot.

It was an easy install, using the install videos. I like that you can remove it when needed and when folded up it does not block the back window. I love that the install with the upgraded platinum kit there was no drilling involved.
We have noticed that there is some leaking at the last panel in between the joints.

Installation went pretty smooth. Took 1 trip through hours of terrible driving rain, and it didnt leak. The only drawback with he cover is that if you load your bed with stuff you cannot open the cover to get the stuff. Thus having to crawl under the cover to retrieve things that are in the way of the “tracks”. We traveled for Christmas a few days ago, and I couldn’t load or unload the bed entirely unless the cover was extended and we crawled under to load or unload. That was a bit of a bummer, otherwise a great company and great customer service.

After watching the videos and going over the instruction booklet I found the installation of the cover to be easy with just the use of basic tools and patience. After I got the cover situated on the truck properly it works exceptionally well and I love the fact that it's lockable as well. I would definitely recommend Peragon covers to anyone looking to get a secure and durable truck bed cover.

Amazed by how easy this was to install and pleasantly surprised with what I thought was going to be a downside - didn't happen. I wasn't excited about drilling holes in my bed (didn't happen), losing my Toyota Tacoma tie-down bars (didn't happen), and having a super heavy tonneau cover (didn't happen). Instead, I got a safe and secure storage area, perfect for skiing or sliding back to put mountain bikes in the back. A+ Paragon, this should be standard with the Toyota Tacoma.

What can I say except that I am really pleased with the company; their communication with me, the delivery of the product, the ease of installation by following the videos plus the installation manual, and the final result an excellent looking strong bed cover that still allows for adding of top rails and or ladder racks. It is more than I had expected, it's very nice! I am 77 years old with bad knees and bad back, yet by taking my time and actually viewing the videos I got it done in two short half day's effort, perhaps much slower than most more flexible bodied individuals will take to install, but I got it done without any trouble at all. This is the bed cover I've been looking for, I wanted something that provided some measure of security along with reasonable protection from the elements and good looks too. This is the best option I found and it all comes at a reasonable price point, a good warranty and excellent customer service. The installation took about 3 and a half hours with my daughter helping me get the assembled rails and cross brace assembly in place. The rest is easy and pretty quick if you follow the instructions and/or watch the installation videos that are provided by Paragon; I used the quick clamp kit and didn't have to drill any extra holes in my new truck(bonus). Once the installation was completed and the final adjustments were made, operation of the cover was a little stiff until the seals broke in. The premium package includes quick clamps with stainless hardware, a tailgate seal, dual dead bolts and a 3 year warranty. I chose the Paragon over the hard roll-up or up-folding type covers because I didn't want to give up a foot of bed space to a cannister or have my back window view blocked. The Paragon allows whole length of the bed to be used as the folding panels are quickly removeable and easily stored behind the front seats. This was also quite a bit less expensive than the roll up covers and provides equal security with the dead bolt lock. Paragon clearly takes pride in the manufacturing of their products, there were no missing parts and this well designed kit arrived undamaged due to the more than adequate packaging. Oh, did I forget to mention free shipping? Paragon will be my go-to bed cover and I will recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality locking cover. Well done Paragon.

I'm relatively handy with tools and able to follow directions pretty well, but even installing my new Peragon bed cover was easier than I thought it would be. Thank you to Peragon for providing the videos to follow. I was able to do it by myself, with the exception of getting the rails onto the bed of the truck. I did need another person for that. I would recommend the Peragon bed cover for anyone who wants to add a cover to their truck bed. The fact that it locks and my tailgate locks is just an added plus. Thank you Peragon.

Before I purchase any products, reviews are important, to see other's experiences and perspectives. The early versions of this did push me away at first, but the Peragon's willingness to change, and admitting they had flaws, was what drew me in. The upgraded design, better material, and an installation manual specific to your vehicle. It is very easy to install, but you need 2 people to move this into the bed. The clamps were tricky to get them aligned right the first time, but easier than drilling. I would recommend that the kit should include washers for the clamps if the alignment is off. The sleek look of the cover, ease of use, and ability to push it up to the front of the bed, and have unobstructed room is perfect. When putting the mountain bikes in the back, this is very convenient to retract to the front to create room.

By far, an outstanding cover. I believe this will work and live up to the standard I would expect. I will be making a cross country trip and will update this with how it performed in regards to weather, once complete. I would 10/10 recommend this cover. Absolute fabulous addition to the new 2020 AT4 HD. It does help it is an American Made product.

The cons: everything has them. The little rubber protectors that protect the paint, when it is collapsed, fall out quite often. That's all I have noticed thus far.

This cover exceeded my expectations! All my previous trucks have had Firberglass, soft rolling or Tri-fold covers. This is the lightest easist topper to use. the install was simply and great instructions. Toneau cover does not leak at the bed rails, tailgate, or the bed back. This is a very durable top. IT has a great finish and slides beter each time we open it. I love how slim it is and easy to stow away when we need the full bed. Great purchase for anyone interested in a folding cover. Only thing I would change would be the pull strap. I wish there was a "sexier" way to pull it closed. the strap is long and just gets in the way or tangled up in the bed. Other than that great product!
