Doesn’t keep water out and you can’t open with stuff in the bed of the truck. No way the water can seal and if you go off road at all the alignment shifts and it will not close after opening correctly. It can’t really support any weight either. For this much money I expected better function and weatherproof. Backflip is much cheaper and better on my past trucks. It looks great and sounds great in the description but it isn’t.

Incredibly disappointed in the Peragon truck bed cover. Ever since I bought my retractable cover for my ram years ago I was always annoyed by the hassle of taking the canister out to gain full access to the bed. I stumbled across Peragon and thought it would be the perfect solution, but there are several major flaws.

Opening the cover requires the tailgate to be down to disengage the locks, having a truck with a power tailgate and trailer attached makes this an annoying task. Even without a trailer attached the locks are so far back in the bed that I can’t reach them without leaning into the bed, this is definitely not ideal when loaded up with cargo. Additionally, the partial locking options are more limited than I realized.

The cover does look great and premium and I was on the fence about living with the inconveniences. Then it rained… There is water intrusion between almost every panel and my bed is soaked. The only area water clearly isn’t getting in is around the tailgate seal. I will be returning the Peragon cover and going back to a retractable and living with the loss of bed space because of the canister.

We haven't had this more than a year and the wheels on the first two panels on this cover broke off on both sides! There isn't any way to fix it since they're welded onto the panels. Expensive tonneau, but the quality is not great. VERY disappointed!!

We are sorry to hear that you had a bracket break on your cover. The brackets are riveted to the panel and are easily replaced! Our support team will reach out to get you taken care of.

Looked like a great idea but turned out to be a very poor choice. Very flimsy, should be a little heavier gauge, and many of the parts pop riveted on pulled out and several hinges sheared. The tracks intrude into the box and very easily bent if anything hits them. The tracks that the bearings follow to accordian the cover are flimsy and in the way inside the box. The seals work very poorly keeping water out of the bed. The Ridgeline box is not very deep and the panels intrude and take too much clearance, and god forbid you hit the bottom side of a panel as it will bend. It is very difficult to release the cover using the flimsy lever. Lastly the nylon strap to tie up the panels for removal is a joke, I mean really, you couldn't come up with a better idea? I solved that problem by cutting a chunk of the strap and put velcro on it. It got recycled!

Horrible customer service. I did what they told me and still don't have replacement parts. E-mailed and called (left a message). It has been a while, but today when using my cover it continues to jam because of the three rubber grommets that have come off the rollers. It was easy to install and easy to operate when functioning properly with all grommets. The durability is the main issue along with customer service. I wouldn't buy again nor would l recommend. Almost forgot, the lock failed after about 2 months. Got that replacement part quickly and without any hassle.

Installation was pretty easy, maybe about 90 minutes. It looks great. If you want your bed to remain dry, look elsewhere. It never kept all the rain out but after an average snowfall, every seal is comprised. It leaks between each panel and on the edges. For the half the cost of this cover, I could have dry storage. Look elsewhere.

I cannot recommend this cover. We have had it for 3 years now. It started leaking water within a month or two after we installed and it leaks on all sides. Also it does not stop dirt/dust from the roads so you can’t haul anything without a container or wrapped in plastic as it will be wet and/or dirty. The rubber weather seal was in place properly but in the last year it no longer sticks on one side which it really didn’t do much to begin with. The other big complaint is it won’t roll back without 2-3 people helping thus it hasn’t been rolled back in almost 3 years as it’s not worth the hassle. We installed it from directions and online videos. I am a female and have been gentle on my pickup therefore it should have worked. The only positive is no one has robbed anything from the truck box so there’s that.

The cover was dismal to install, it leaked ALL the time (when it rained, when it was foggy, when I went through sprinklers), if the humidity was big it would leak. The final install rattled like small change in a mason jar while going down the road.

The cover was so bad I ended up selling my truck and this was one of the main reasons.

This is a plagiarized post. But, I couldn't agree more so, it's a bit of repost and my own thoughts

I want to start by saying I have owned this cover for almost a year. I wanted to thoroughly put it through it's paces before writing a review. I feel compelled to write this review because I am extremely unhappy with the functionality of this cover, looks great though.

I have owned a roll n lock, soft cover, and flipbak. I purchased this cover because I liked the idea of it being easily removable and thought the metal would be much more durable. If I had it to do over again I would rather have any of the other covers I have owned in the past over this one.

I will start from the beginning.

Ordering, shipping and install: The ordering process was super easy and the customer service was excellent. The item came timely and packaged well. The install was fairly straight forward and I had no problems. The video they made for the install is very good.

Quality and sturdiness: The way they bragged about the metal on the website I thought it would be much thicker and stronger. You cannot put much weight on the cover. There is an upgraded lock that I purchased but not sure why I bothered ... if someone wants to get into it all they have to do is stand on top of it. My soft top vinyl cover I could actually stand on and both my roll n lock and flip bak could carry considerably more weight on it. I never bought another flip bak due to horrible customer service (I would never buy one despite the quality of the product).

The aluminum panels have rubber gaskets between them and move considerably while driving down the road and make a bit of noise. I'm assuming the gaskets will wear and tear over time making the cover even less waterproof than it already is.

Design Flaws (why not to buy):

1. The lack of ability to bear minimal weight on the top of the cover explained above.

2. The panels don't have any insulation or even a smooth surface on the bottom face, each panel has a front and rear lip. This is significant because if you try to slide things in the bed, with the tailgate down, the items tend to snag or jam if the load is near the top of the cover.

3. Even when I remove the cover to haul big items in the bed the front part of the cover is subject to damage if something is all the way to the front of the bed (ie. can't slide a tool box all the way to the front without hitting the remaining cover part). Additionally, the side rails prevent you from placing items flush against the side rail to strap it down. Why is this significant, have you ever tried to secure a large heavy item in the middle of a bed so it won't slide around!?

4. The only way to open this cover is to unlock it and forcefully push down on the panels until they fold up. This is a problem for two reasons 1) the cover is black and gets very hot exposed to the sun, I have had to use gloves just to open the cover 2) I'm only 5' 9" and I can't reach the center in order to push it down without it retracting crooked.

5. The cover is either open or closed unlike the roll n lock or even a flip bak. The strap that is used to pull the cover closed fly's all around when you travel with it open. It's never at the end of the bed so, you have to climb into the bed to retrieve it.

THE BIGGEST REASON TO SKIP THIS COVER:

The way the cover folds into the front of the bed makes your bed all but useless for hauling items under the bed cover. If the items slide to the front of the bed you cannot open the cover without climbing into the bed and pulling the item away from the front of the bed. I can't tell you how many times I have had to crawl in my bed, relocate totes or groceries just to open the cover. This is a ridiculous design that makes this cover almost useless. I have had to buy load poles an block off the front of my bed so things can't slide to the front. Now my bed is even shorter. Additionally, the brackets that the panels fold down into on the side are subject to damage by sliding items.

Summary:
I am disappointed in this bed cover and wished I had read the original poster's comments. I do believe Peragon believes in their product and it looks nice (cleans nice unlike a soft top or flip bak which fade), installed easily, easy to remove. The crawling into the bed to move items that slid forward or to get the strap is completely unacceptable. The product suffers from flaws in functionality that they advertise are resolved by the unit's design. Most notably, it doesn't take up bed space. Which is true from a tangible aspect but, completely false for user functionality. I am not sure on long term durability but, I think the rubber seals between the panels won't hold up.

I ordered my cover on 27 Jul 2020. They charged my credit card that day. I was told my cover would be shipped on 8 Sep 2020. I received notification from Fed Ex (none from Paragon) that the order (2 boxes) would be delivered on 28 Aug 2020, the day I was leaving for a week of vacation. I called Paragon and they said my order would be delayed until after I returned. I waited and heard nothing. When I called I was told 1) it had been shipped and I should have it at the end of last week (11 Sep 2020, 2) called again, was told they were waiting for the return of the 2nd box, then it didn't pass quality control, The on Sunday 13 Sep 2020 the 2nd box is left in my driveway (presumably by Fed Ex), 3) I called again on 14 Sep 20 and was told - then they would get back to me.Didn't happen. Nothing but BS. On the 15th of Sep I called and canceled the order figuring I would never get it anyway, Someone should train Jacob to get his stories straight. Here's a message for Heath the CEO. You state we will see customer support as we have never seen it. You are darn sure right about and I hope to never be cursed with it again. Oh, and when I called to cancel the order it was very plain Jacob could care less. He never once asked how he could help fix it.

I purchased this cover a few years ago and never installed, was using my truck bed everyday and it did not pay to install at that time. I recently installed this cover and very disappointed.

1 - Cover leaks because rails do not cover stake pockets, rain runs right into the stake pockets. I have the plugs removed inside the bed so I can strap things down, this allows water in.

2 - Rails over hang the bed rails, when the cover is retracted you no longer can strap something tight to the side of the bed rail.

3 - To retract the cover you need to push directly in the center of the cover, I am 6' tall with long arms and can just reach the center. My wife can not reach the center with out a step, this is mounted on a 2007 GMC 2500 - that is not lifer, all stock.

4 - The track that needs to be installed the bed limits bed use, forget getting a load of mulch or stone, hauling hay bails or firewood.

I have only had the cover on for two weeks and looking to remove and list it on Craig's list for sale.

Do not buy this cover unless you are just going for looks and not function.

Let me start by saying this is the second time I have tried to add a negative review on this product as for some reason the first negative review did not post, I won’t say anymore on that.

The positives:

The cover looks very nice

OK now for the negatives:

If you decide to load the truck with the cover open plan on losing 24 to 26 inches of space in the front of the truck otherwise the cover won’t close. You then get to unload everything close the cover, climb into the truck on your back and push the items to the front, folds closed to 8 inches true but they don’t tell you lose over 2 feet of loading space. Emailed with customer service their solution buy a cargo bar or a cargo hook. Design rating 0

It leaks while it does state it is not water tight I for sure did not think it would leak as bad as it does. Do not haul anything in the rain especially cardboard boxes or they will be ruined. I am sure their solution would be to use plastic storage containers, like buying a cargo hook.

The quality is questionable I have had my cover for about 6 or 8 months and the rear wheel that rides in the track has somehow disappeared out of the bracket. I spoke with customer service and the company’s solution; they are sending another bracket where I then have to drill out the rivets and replace the bracket with screws and nuts to hold it in place. Well one more thing to worry about with this cover how often do I have to tighten or retighten these of it doesn’t fall out again.

The cover has never really “broken in” as they have stated so when I push the cover it sticks so have to walk around the back of the truck to push the cover and then hits a certain point and slams open. The company did tell me to call them after I fixed their quality problem drilling out the bracket and they would assist.

If you do ride with the cover open make sure you tie it otherwise it will open about foot then then when you put on the brakes it will slam on itself so not really sure on how long my one positive comment will last.

I bought this cover after reading all of the positive reviews so if anyone wants to read the reviews and buy one please contact me and I will happily sell you this one cheap as I will getting rid of this cover and buying something that I can load, something that doesn’t leak or at least leak as bad, and something made with quality products and parts.

Oh and I am saving this review in case I have to post it for a third time.

I recently removed this cover from my 2010 Chevy Silverado. I only owned the cover for 1 year and I had enough. Below are issues I ran into.
1) I'm 5'-11" and my wife is 5'-8". To reach over the side of the truck and put enough pressure to push down on the cover was tough. There were a couple of places this caused dents in the cover if you didn't push down at the right spot. A few times the panels would even come apart.
2) On sunny days the cover would be so hot to the touch you would burn your fingers trying to open it. I used to cringe when I had to open it on these days. I kept an extra pair of leather gloves in the truck for this reason.
3) If something slid to the front of the truck like a cooler you would have to crawl under the cover to retrieve it. You could not open the cover because it folds down int the bed. Anything over a foot tall would keep the cover from opening.

I replaced this with a retractable type cover and love it.

The only good thing I can say about this bed cover is that it's painted nice. Do yourself a huge favor and buy a roll up, trust me it may cost more but a year down the road it will still work. I bought this due to the "nice " web site and we are american and we are christian so I trusted the company. I am packing to go away tonight and this piece of excrement just came apart, so no bed cover for this trip. If you leave it closed all the time it looks nice, it's just noisy at highway speeds. If you attempt to use it you will quickly become frustrated with your purchase.

When initially looking into bed covers for my 2015 Silverado I thought the Peragon cover was the one for me. Now That I have had it over 9 months I am now realizing i should have went with another brand and cover all the way around. Leaks Water, Leaks Water and Leaks Water. and all materials must be tied down because if one thing over 6 inches tall slides to the front of your bed you have to crawl in there and move to to get the bed cover open. The ease of use is great in a perfect world but not in reality at all.

My opinion: do not buy this cover unless you are buying just for looks, not functionality.

I want to start by saying I have owned this cover for over 8 months and wanted to thoroughly put it through it's paces before writing a review. I feel compelled to write this review because I am extremely unhappy with the functionality of this cover, looks great though.

I have owned a roll n lock, fiberglass cover, and fiberglass toppers. I purchased this cover because I liked the idea of it being easily removable and thought the metal would be much more durable. If I had it to do over again I would rather have any of the other covers I have owned in the past over this one. If you are in the Colorado area and have a Dodge Ram 6'2" bed I will make you a smoking deal on a slightly used cover!!!

I will start from the beginning.

Ordering, shipping and install: The ordering process was super easy and the customer service was excellent. The item came timely and packaged well (I was in Florida when I ordered it). The install was fairly straight forward and I had no problems. It should be noted that you have to drill holes in the bed rail of your truck, most of the other covers on the market have an option to install without permanently modifying your truck! (First negative but I over looked it)

Quality and sturdiness: The way they bragged about the metal on the website I thought it would be much thicker and stronger. You cannot put much weight on the cover so don't expect to carry potting soil or anything on top of it while working. There is an upgraded lock that I purchased but not sure why I bothered ... if someone wants to get into it all they have to do is stand on top of it. Both my fiberglass cover and my roll n lock could carry considerably more weight on it. You won't be carrying bikes or kayaks on top of this one!

The aluminum panels have rubber gaskets between them and move considerably while driving down the road. These gaskets will wear and tear over time making the cover even less waterproof than it already is. Yeah, they say it is weather proof but mine has leaked water in the bed over and over again! These gaskets are going to make long term viability minimal.

Design Flaws (why not to buy):

First reason, the lack of ability to bear minimal weight on the top of the cover explained above.

Second reason, the panels don't have any insulation or even a smooth surface on the bottom face, each panel has a front and rear lip. This is significant because if you try to slide things in the bed, with the tailgate down, the items tend to snag or jam if the load is near the top of the cover.

Third reason, even when I remove the cover to haul big items in the bed the front part of the cover is subject to damage if something is all the way to the front of the bed (ie. can't slide a tool box all the way to the front without hitting the remaining cover part). Additionally, the side rails prevent you from placing items flush against the side rail to strap it down. Why is this significant, have you ever tried to secure a large heavy item in the middle of a bed so it won't slide around!?

Fourth reason, the only way to open this cover is to unlock it and forcefully push down on the panels until they separate and then go to the back of the truck to push it open the rest of the way. This is a problem for two reasons 1) the cover is black and gets very hot exposed to the sun, I have had to use gloves just to open the cover 2) if the tailgate is up you cannot close the cover without pinching the heck out of your fingers!!

fifth reason, the cover is either open or closed unlike the roll n lock. This isn't really that significant but I carry tools in my truck bed, it would be nice to have it partially open so I could cover my tools while taller items stuck out at the tailgate end. Also, when it is completely open you run the risk of damaging the cover as it clanks around painted metal surface on painted metal surface.

Additionally, the brackets that the panels fold down into on the side are subject to damage by sliding items!!

A lot of people say the roll n lock takes up bed space so this cover is better but in order for this cover to function you lose more bed space and have to buy additional parts!!

Summary: I hate this bed cover and wished I had spent the extra money for a roll n lock, it is head and shoulders above this cover. The crawling into the bed thing is just completely unacceptable. Sorry guys, your customer service is great but the product has serious flaws in functionality, not to mention my concern for long term durability. Cover for sale in Colorado, anyone interested???

Hello Robert. First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your feedback. While it isn’t the feedback that we have become accustomed to hearing, it is important nonetheless. We listen carefully and utilize customer feedback to continually improve our product.

We are sorry to hear that the Peragon cover did not work well for you. We have tens of thousands of customers around the country who love their covers and have given us overwhelmingly positive feedback on the quality and performance of the cover. No truck bed cover is perfect for everyone’s unique needs, but we stand behind our product 100%.

You purchased your Peragon bed cover in December 2014 and, while this is outside of our typical return policy, we genuinely don’t want any customers out there who are completely unhappy with the product. I have created a return authorization and will refund your full purchase price upon receiving the cover.
