What's the best tonneau cover for a Canyon?

GMC sells the Canyon as the premium midsize, and the people who buy a Denali or an AT4 expect the accessories to match the truck. Since the 2023 redesign the Canyon is crew cab only with a 5'2" bed, so the cover has to do a lot with a little. The best tonneau cover for a Canyon built in 2023 or later is whichever matches the job: Landmark retractable if you're in the bed constantly and want it clear in seconds, Tectonic hard tri-fold if gear rides on top, 250 pounds of it on a Sport, 500 on a Pro or Max.

Older Canyons, 2015 to 2022, get the Landmark on the short bed or the long bed, and on those years it bolts to the bed rather than clamping.

A soft cover on a Denali looks wrong and cuts easy. Buy aluminum once.

Landmark is right for your Canyon if you

  • Want a clean, low-profile look that keeps the truck sharp
  • Open the bed every day and want fast access, or the whole cover off in seconds
  • Want key-locking security you can count on
  • Own a 2015 to 2022 Canyon, or want the long bed covered

Tectonic is right for your Canyon if you

  • Want total access to the entire bed at any moment
  • Pack the bed full and need room to carry cargo on top
  • Need the bed sealed and dry
  • Own a 2023 or newer Canyon and carry gear on top of the cover

Canyon bed cover fitment by year

Two eras. The 2023 and newer Canyon takes Landmark LimitedHDx or the Tectonic on its 5'2" bed. The 2015 to 2022 Canyon takes Landmark Classic, Platinum or LimitedHD on either bed, bolted to the bed.

Canyon tonneau cover questions

What's the best tonneau cover for a GMC Canyon?

For a 2023 or newer Canyon, pick by use: Landmark retractable to keep the 5'2" bed clear and locked, Tectonic hard tri-fold to carry a load on top. For a 2015 to 2022 Canyon the answer is the Landmark, in short or long bed. Both covers are solid aluminum, key-locking and welded in Shell Lake, Wisconsin.

Will a bed cover fit my Canyon with a bed liner?

A plastic drop-in liner gets trimmed where the Tectonic clamps on a 2023 or newer Canyon.

Can I run a toolbox with a tonneau cover on a Canyon?

Both covers want the cab end of the bed, the Landmark for its housing and the Tectonic for its folded stack, and that's where a crossover box lives. On a 5'2" Canyon bed something has to give. Call us at 877-473-7246 or use live chat before you order and we'll check your truck.

Which bed lengths does the Canyon come in, and how do I measure mine?

One bed on 2023 and newer trucks, 5'2". Two on 2015 to 2022, 5'2" and 6'2". Two on 2004 to 2012, 5 and 6 feet. Tape the inside from the bulkhead to the closed tailgate: roughly 62 inches is short, roughly 74 is long.

How long does it take to install a bed cover on a Canyon? Do I have to drill?

Tectonic on a 2023 or newer Canyon is a no-drill clamp install, about 30 minutes, and the LimitedHDx goes on with hand tools in 2 to 3 hours. On a 2015 to 2022 Canyon the Landmark is a drilled install, also 2 to 3 hours. The install video for your year is on its year page.

Does it fit the Canyon AT4 and Denali?

AT4, AT4X and Denali share the standard Canyon bed and take the same cover for their year. The Chevy Colorado uses the same bed and has its own page. If your AT4X has the bed-mounted spare, call us at 877-473-7246 or use live chat before you order and we'll check your truck.
