What's the best tonneau cover for a Gladiator?

A Gladiator is a Wrangler with a 5-foot bed, and the bed gets used the way the Jeep does: recovery gear, a cooler, a spare, mud. Most have a spray-in liner, and many have the Trail Rail tie-down system in the bed. The best tonneau cover for a Gladiator is the Tectonic hard tri-fold. It folds and slides above the bed, takes no bed space, carries 250 pounds on top as a Sport, 500 as a Pro or Max, and seals the bed against weather with the top down and the doors off.

It does not fit with the Trail Rail system or a plastic drop-in liner. A spray-in liner is fine.

A soft cover on a trail truck gets cut. Buy aluminum once.

Tectonic is right for your Gladiator if you

  • Want total access to the entire bed at any moment
  • Pack the bed full and need room to carry cargo on top
  • Need the bed sealed and dry
  • Run the Gladiator with the top off and want the bed sealed

Gladiator bed cover fitment by year

Tectonic fits every Gladiator from 2020 on the 5-foot bed, without the Trail Rail system or a plastic drop-in liner.

Gladiator tonneau cover questions

What's the best tonneau cover for a Jeep Gladiator?

The Tectonic hard tri-fold. It's the Peragon cover for the 2020 and newer Gladiator, on the 5-foot bed, in Sport, Pro and Max. It folds open from either end, carries 250 pounds on top as a Sport, 500 as a Pro or Max, and installs in about 30 minutes with no drilling.

Will a bed cover fit my Gladiator with a spray-in bed liner?

Plastic drop-in liner: no, the Tectonic is not compatible with a plastic drop-in liner on the Gladiator, because the clamps sit where the liner wraps the bed rail. A bed mat is fine.

Does a tonneau cover work with the Gladiator's Trail Rail system?

No. The Tectonic is not compatible with the Trail Rail Cargo Management System, the adjustable tie-down rails along the bed sides, because the cover clamps where the rails mount.

Which bed length does the Gladiator come in, and how do I measure mine?

One: the 5-foot bed, on every Gladiator. Measure inside from the front wall to the inside of the closed tailgate and you'll get about 60 inches. There's no bed length to choose on the year page, just your year.

How long does it take to install a bed cover on a Gladiator? Do I have to drill?

About 30 minutes and no drilling. The Tectonic clamps to the Gladiator's bed rail with the clamps in the box, and comes back off in about 60 seconds.

Does it fit the Gladiator Mojave and Rubicon?

Mojave, Rubicon, Willys and Sport all use the same 5-foot bed and the same Tectonic. The only Gladiator differences that matter are what's in the bed: Trail Rail and plastic drop-in liners are not compatible.
