We spend a lot of time thinking about trucks and doing research into the cool stuff you can add to them and there are a lot of Ford F150 truck accessories to consider. Here’s a list we put together that might help you decide which F150 accessories you might like on your truck.
2020 F150 accessories for the bed
Tonneau Cover
Of course, the first of the Ford F150 accessories we put on our list is a tonneau cover. It’s not only because we sell a really great one, but because we find them to be a “must have” for most pick up trucks. If you don’t have a topper or camper permanently installed on your truck, you will want a tonneau cover. With a rigid, lockable cover, you no longer have to worry so much about stuff flying or bouncing out, shoveling snow or leaves out from around your cargo, or some jerk swiping your fishing poles when you’re not looking. And if the cost seems prohibitive, there’s good evidence that a tonneau cover will save you a little gas money in the long haul. Bed protection
Unless you never plan to haul anything, you will need a bed liner or mat to protect your bed from damage. No matter how hard you try to be gentle loading and unloading, using blankets and pads, and not letting your buddies borrow your truck, your bed’s going to get a little beat up. Or maybe a lot beat up. Choose from drop in plastic liners and heavy rubber mats to permanent spray-in protection. Whichever way you go, some kind of bed protection should be on your list of Ford F150 accessories 2020.
Bed extenders
A load of 8 ft 2x4s and most ATVs don’t travel well when you haul them in a 6-1/2 foot truck box unless you have strong tie downs or chains, good places to hook them, and a thoughtful strategy to keep them nice and snug. Thankfully, there are both aftermarket and Ford OEM bed extenders that add a critical foot or two when you need them. We’ve all had to haul something a little bit oversized, requiring us to drop the tailgate, but with that accommodation comes the fear of something breaking loose and sliding or rolling right out on the road behind us. Regardless, you must always secure your load, but with a bed extender you’re a lot more likely to keep it all safely in the truck.
F150 interior accessories
Floor mats
Chances are, you bought a truck to be a workhorse, and you’ll probably be working alongside of it a lot. That means boots that may be wet or covered in dirt, sand, and mud, especially in wet and snowy regions. Not to mention kids eating and drinking in your truck. Good floor mats will protect your carpet and help keep your interior looking new. When thinking about F150 accessories 2020, it might seem hard to get excited about something as mundane as floor mats, but when you can order them to fit your truck exactly, they not only protect your truck, but make the interior look sharp, too.
Cab storage and organization compartments
Whether you have a SuperCab, SuperCrew, or even a regular cab, there are storage compartments that will fit nicely behind the front seats and/or under the back seats. Without some kind of storage structure in place, it doesn’t take long before your cab gear (like jumper cables and ratchet straps) are tangled up and auto fluid containers tip over and spill or roll around annoyingly while you’re driving. - Ratcheting straps or other tie downs to secure any load traveling in an open pickup box
- Blankets or moving pads to keep cargo from causing damage to itself, your truck, or other cargo
- A tow chain, because if you have a big truck, especially with 4-wheel-drive, you’re inevitably going to find yourself pulling somebody out of the ditch
- Bed weights, especially for 2-wheel-drive trucks if you’re driving in snow or mud
