Simple. Where else can you get a retractable, ball bearing, solid aluminum, powder coated, key lockable truck bed cover that looks this good for only $599 on a short bed? Vinyl tarps are nearly $400 and they don't even offer any security. One piece hard lids are heavy, expensive and severely restrict hauling larger cargo. Other retractable designs use plastic or vinyl and have inflated prices due to dealer margins. Review our features and photos, you'll see the choice is clear.
Yes. We ship directly to you, we don't sell through dealers. By cutting out the dealer profit we can offer a superior product for less money. If we offered our cover through dealers, it would sell for over $1,000 - similar to other retractable covers. Installation is simple and we're here to help if you have any questions. We've been a proud member of the Better Business Bureau for over four years. You can trust that you're doing business with a reliable company with a solid reputation. See How to buy.

We use 5052-H32 tempered aluminum - no vinyl, plastic or foam. The aluminum is 12 gauge, or a little less than 1/8" thick. The panels have an integral aluminum rib for a finished panel height of 3/4". The aluminum panels then have a satin black powder coat baked on at over 400 degrees for a tough-as-nails finish. Our solid aluminum design offers robust protection for your cargo. It is engineered to support evenly distributed weight such as snow. However, it is not designed to walk on or to carelessly throw heavy objects on. Think of our cover just like you would the hood of your truck. The hood is rigid and strong, but you wouldn't walk on it. Some companies claim that you can walk on their cover. We think that is silly at best and dishonest at worst. Learn More
No, we're solid 5052-H32 tempered aluminum - top to bottom. We don't use any vinyl, plastic or foam. Learn More
Our 12 gauge tempered aluminum is more dent resistant than your truck. For example, a hail storm would do serious damage to the rest of your truck before the cover would be a concern. The aluminum panels are tough enough to handle the normal bumps and bruises that come with the life of a truck. Learn More
This is one of the great features of the Peragon design. Each panel can be replaced by itself. So, if you drop a concrete block on a panel, your wallet doesn't get crushed at the same time! A replacement panel is only $60. Think about that with the one-piece retractable designs made from plastic or vinyl glued over aluminum. Not only are they more easily damaged to start with, if they do get damaged you have to replace the entire unit.
We offer a satin black powder coat finish that is baked on for durability. As Henry Ford said, "You can have any color you want as long as it is black". The fact is, black looks sharp on any truck. The black powder coat is satin - not high gloss - to minimize glare. The satin finish hides wear and tear well. If you must have a custom color, your local body shop can paint the cover to match your truck.
As with all retractable truck bed covers, you will get water seepage along the sides and, of course, around your tailgate. If the cover sits for an extended period in a steady rain, you're going to notice leakage. However, the aluminum panels are tightly sealed against each other to prevent water leakage between the panels. Retractable covers offer unmatched flexibility for hauling and security, but they are not waterproof. They require some common sense when packing, putting items like tools or electronics into totes for extra protection. That's the straight answer, and don't believe a company that tells you otherwise. Yes. The key lock that comes standard on each cover provides robust security with a steel deadbolt system. However, the cover only provides a deterrent to theft, it does not prevent it. Learn More
We pride ourselves on having service second to none and our service doesn't end after the cover is installed. The Peragon Bed Cover is covered by a one year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. While the chances of you experiencing any problems with your cover are slim, we work quickly to resolve anything that doesn't live up to our warranty.

Yes. Each panel is completely isolated from the next with a rubber seal that prevents any metal-to-metal contact. We dislike rattles as much as you do.
The Peragon cover uses sealed ball bearing rollers for impressively smooth operation in all seasons. In winter conditions other retractable tonneau covers can experience real problems. However, the Peragon cover is made in Northern Minnesota and engineered for the worst winter can offer.
Yes. The truck bed cover has multiple latching positions for cargo hauling flexibility. The cover also can be secured for travel in the fully open position.
Only 35 pounds on most trucks. One person can quick-release the cover. With aluminum you get a lot of strength without much weight.
When retracted, the Peragon cover is the most compact retractable design for maximum cargo space. On a short bed truck the cover comes out from the front of the bed about 6" and hangs down into the bed about 12". It still leaves plenty of clearance to the floor of the bed to slide long items like a piece of plywood all the way to the front. The panels require some extra clearance to fold and unfold. Watch the video clips for an overview of the operation.
Yes. We chose to leave the tailgate independent for enhanced convenience. Covers that lock to the tailgate can be more hassle than they are worth. The hardware they attach to the tailgate creates a problem when sliding cargo in or out of your bed. Many trucks already have locking tailgates and we offer the Pop & Lock tailgate lock for trucks that don't. Click here to select your truck, see if a Pop & Lock is an option and view a photo.
Step-by-step instructions with photographs walk you through the process. The only tools needed for no-drill models are a screwdriver and two 7/16" & 1/2" wrenches. We're just a toll-free call away if you have questions. A "real world" estimate of install time is 2-3 hours. Unlike covers that claim to take an hour or less, our estimate includes unpacking, sorting the parts and reviewing the instructions. The cover comes fully assembled - ready to slide into the frame and quick connect. There are three basic steps to installing the cover: 1) Assemble hardware to our guide rails to create the frame 2) Attach the frame to the truck using the included mounting brackets - most trucks require no drilling 3) Slide the cover in and quick connect! There are a few basic adjustments for smooth operation and you're done. Learn More
Spray-in liners are fully compatible, even sprayed over-the-rail. The BedRug is fully compatible. Plastic drop-in liners will work with minor modification if they are under-the-rail. If the plastic liner wraps over the front of the bed or over the tailgate, that's fine. Over-the-rail plastic liners that wrap over the sides of the truck bed may not be compatible or may require extensive modification. Learn More
No problem. Factory molded plastic caps like Ford and Toyota use, as well as most plastic or metal aftermarket caps, are fine. Since most of our covers mount to holes on the side of the stake pockets, the bed rail caps must have cutouts so you can put a wrench into the stake pocket while tightening our brackets. After installation, our cover leaves the top of the stake pockets fully open so you can mount other accessories if desired. Learn More
It's already been nine years and we don't know where the time went. After nearly a decade we're still growing strong. Many of our customers come to us through word-of-mouth from other Peragon tonneau cover owners. We think that says a lot about our product and our company.
We have sold tens of thousands of truck bed covers across every state, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Europe. From sun to snow our design spans the globe.
