Peragon Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1999 to create a truck bed cover that would provide security, all-weather protection, cargo flexibility and seamless factory appearance. Other tonneau covers were simply not combining these important functions. One-piece fiberglass lids provided security, but prevented carrying larger cargo. Vinyl truck bed covers served as a tarp to keep out the rain, but failed to offer any security. Peragon's retractable aluminum tonneau cover changed all that.

In 2002, Peragon was honored by the SBA with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for corporate leadership and commitment to economic development in the region.

With dedication to a superior customer experience, Peragon joined the Better Business Bureau in 2002 and remains an active member in good standing.

Continued growth demanded more production capacity and in 2003 Peragon tripled its square footage with a move to a new facility.

Peragon unveiled its second generation retractable truck bed cover design in 2004 with even more advanced features. That revolutionary design is still in production today with tens of thousands of units across North America.
